So what form of motorsport can cost as little as $20 a day, cause no wear on tyres, pads or other consumables and not involve a hand controller and game console? The Motorkhana of course.
Motorkhanas are a test of car control and manoeuvrability and are conducted on a small course no more than 200 metres long set out with flags or cones. These events can take place on anything from a wet skidpan to a grassy field and a days event will typically involve around 10 different courses. With competitors as young as 14 able to compete and very few car or clothing requirements these are easily the most accessible motorsport events in Australia.
As a result of this many of our members regularly compete in motorkhanas using a variety of cars ranging from 200sx's to the might Pulsar ET Turbo, aka the weapon. The club also runs a regular motorkhana against the WRX club which has proved to be one of the most popular events on the calendar.
